Corporate Social Responsibility

Emsleys is committed to contributing to our communities, both as a firm and as individuals.

Our chosen charity this year is the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service, for which our employees raise money through regular charitable events.

We have a well-established connection with Leeds Cares, an initiative of Business in the Community, which enables us to undertake a number of initiatives including:

• Right to Read – our team of 10 volunteers read each week to children at a local primary school, helping children improve their literacy skills and build their confidence when communicating with adults outside their normal school setting.
   
• Cares at Christmas ­– each year, staff, family and friends collect Christmas presents for children for Barnardos Intensive Support Service, providing support for families who find Christmas a particularly difficult time.
   
• Give and Gain Day – teams from across our business work together every year to create facilities for those in need, from creating a reading garden and building a science pond at local schools to refurbishing a resource centre to help the homeless get their lives back on track.

We also support a number of local sports clubs including Garforth Rangers, Colton Cricket Club and Leeds and District Junior Cricket League.
