Supporting good causes in our local community

Each year our staff choose a charity to support as part of our community involvement. Our chosen charity for 2007-2008 is Candlelighters.

They are raising money for a teenage cancer unit at St James' Hospital in Leeds. Although adults and children's wards seem to be well catered for, there are often no specific facilities for teenagers and they are trying to redress this balance.

They hope to provide Xboxes, computers and music facilities aimed specifically at teenagers so they don't have to have their chemotherapy looking at Disney characters!

The events we have held so far this year have included the Rothwell Carnival, a raffle at our Christmas lunch and two further raffles in local pubs.

The main event of the year will be our auction on the 3rd April. This will be held at the Woodlands, in Rothwell. There will be a disco, karaoke and food provided by the pub.
