Our charity work 2005-2006
Our chosen charity for 2005-2006 was Cancer Research UK.
Sponsored walk
Annette Clark, the receptionist at our Rothwell branch, and her husband Steve, successfully completed the 110 mile Cleveland Way sponsored walk. During this monumental effort they raised over £1,000 for Cancer Research UK. Well done to them both.
Charity auction
A grand charity auction was held at the Manston Public House in Crossgates. Local businesses and organisations donated over 50 items to the auction and a local DJ, Dave Flowers, provided music and karaoke. The night raised over £1,000.
Pink Day
Each office participated with staff decorating themselves and their offices in a pink theme; this included pink boas, streamers, balloons and decorations. There were also games and prizes on offer.
Rothwell Carnival
Our Charity Committee held a tombola stall at the Rothwell Carnival to raise money.
Quiz Night
The winning team at a staff social event kindly donated their cash prize to our charity of the year.
Collection Day
Members of staff, family and friends volunteered to rattle collection buckets outside a large DIY store near Castleford.
Christmas cards
In addition to all of this fundraising activity we also made a donation of £500 for the use of Cancer Research UK’s own email Christmas cards.
