You are required by the Gas Safety (Installations and Use) Regulations to service all gas appliances on an annual basis. Failure to do so can result in obvious risks to health and safety, prosecution by the Health and Safety Executive, and problems with the Regulator. Most Registered Providers have robust systems in place to ensure compliance throughout their stock. There often remains a small minority of individuals who for a variety of reasons are unwilling or unable to permit access to contractors to carry out servicing. Legal action needs to be taken against those individuals to ensure their safety, and that of their neighbours, is not compromised.
