Just a reminder that the Consultation for the ASB review remains open until the 3rd May 2011.
Responses are invited from members of the public as well as organisations, and can be made online through the Home Office website at the link below.
Plans include powers to compel local agencies to investigate anti-social behaviour if it has been reported by several people or by the same person three times and no action has been taken. Subject to consultation the new tools will replace 18 of the powers currently available. The Government suggests that they will be more flexible, quicker to obtain and less bureaucratic, making it easier to deal with persistent offenders.
Whilst the review is potentially far reaching, the message is clear - until the reforms take place, the powers remain in force and can and should be used to combat ASB.Back to Blog
