Emsleys Easter Fundraising Event
This Easter, our firm came together once more in support of our charity partner of the year, Martin House Children’s Hospice. Hosting a coffee and cake fundraising event at our Colton offices in Leeds, our colleagues helped raise over £200 to support the hospice’s vital work for local children and young people in need of end-of-life care.
Martin House, based locally in Boston Spa, offers compassionate care and respite for families navigating the most challenging of circumstances. The charity supports hundreds of families each year, delivering comfort and moments of joy to those there as patients, and the families accompanying them too. Emsleys are proud to support and contribute to Martin House.
A Taste of Easter Spirit
An Easter event would not be complete without a generous number of sweet treats! Our staff certainly delivered for this event. From homemade brownies to Mars Bar Slices and Lemon Drizzle Cake, the morning boasted a handsome selection of baked goods. A special mention must go to Claire Garside’s 9-year-old daughter who won the star baker award with her Crunchy Chocolate Nests after spending her half term break baking for the fundraising event.
Additional Fundraising
As well as raising money via baked goods and hot drinks, our charity committee organised a giant Wine Bottle Lucky Dip. With over 30 mystery bottle bags on the table, our team could take part in a picking a bag from the lineup. Would the bottle inside be full of water or wine? With fantastic donations from across the businesses the committee were able to include an incredible range of alcoholic and soft drinks.
As well as our wine or water game, staff could guess how many Mini Eggs our fundraising team could fit in a jar. Adding to further donations, Julie, from our New Build Conveyancing Team, successful guessed the closest answer and won the jar (and the chocolates!).
Looking ahead
This Easter Event marked our most successful fundraising coffee morning to date. The enthusiasm and generosity across the firm reaffirmed the team’s commitment to making a difference in our local community and those charities we support.
