Emsleys is demonstrating its core values by joining a humanitarian aid convoy to Moldova.
Organised by CWUHA (Communication Workers Union Humanitarian Aid), the convoy left for Moldova on Thursday 6th September. Moldova is one of the poorest countries in Europe and lies in the East between Romania and Ukraine.
Emsleys Solicitors and Emsleys Estate Agents have been raising money and receiving donations over recent months in order to be able to take essential supplies to Moldova as part of the convoy. Items included specialist equipment, medical and cleaning provisions, toys and clothing.
Trainee Solicitor Alice Waddell and Litigation Executive Jim Clark from our No.2 Colton Mill office in Leeds volunteered to join the convoy covering 1,700 miles to Moldova. When they arrive, they will deliver the supplies to orphanages, hospitals, day centres and vulnerable families.
Director Peter Watson, who coordinated Emsleys’ participation in the convoy, said: “I’m very grateful for all the donations and support from across the firm and the businesses named on our website. I’d also like to thank Alice and Jim for volunteering to join the convoy.
“Having worked with CWUHA for over 20 years and participated in previous convoys I can testify first hand to the fantastic work the charity does and the difference it makes to so many people’s lives. The next two weeks will be an experience Alice and Jim will never forget.”Back to Blog
